Quick Add Portlet > Select Event as the record Type > "You do not have permission to create this type of record. Please choose a different record type."

When selecting Event as the record type for the Quick Add Portlet, we get the error message:

"You do not have permission to create this type of record. Please choose a different record type."

Perform the following steps to fix the problem:
 
1. Navigate to Customization > Forms > Entry Forms

2. Edit the preferred case form.

3. Tick the Enable Field Editing on Lists checkbox.

4. Click Save.

When you go back to your Home Dashboard > Quick Add Portlet, you should now be able to select Event as the record type.
