Create a Subsidiary Based Custom Field That is Displayed on Transactions

Use Case

• User wants to add a Company Registration Number for each subsidiary
• The appropriate Company Registration Number should automatically display on transactions based on their assigned subsidiary
  

I. Create a custom field for Company Registration Number

1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Other Record Fields > New.

2. Set the following:

• Record Type = Subsidiary
• Label = Company Registration Number
• Type = Free-Form Text
• Store Value = T

3. Click Save.

II. Assign a Company Registration Number for each subsidiary

1. Navigate to Setup > Company > Subsidiaries.

2. Edit each subsidiary and fill out the Company Registration Number field.

3. Click Save.

III. Create a custom Company Registration Number that displays on transactions.

1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields > New.

2. Set the following:

• Label = Company Registration Number
• Type = Free-Form Text
• Store Value = F

3. Under Applies To tab, mark the transaction types as needed.

4. Under Display tab, set Subtab to Main.

5. Under Sourcing & Filtering tab, set:

• Source List = Subsidiary (Main)
• Source From = Company Registration Number

6. Click Save.
