1. Log in as Administrator.
2. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > CRM Fields > New.
3. Create a custom CRM Field with the following settings:
- Type: List/Record
- List/Record: (select the custom record type)
- Store Value : True
- Record is Parent : True
- Applies to : Phone Call
- Display: Subtab : Main
5. Create a Hyperlink field under the Custom Record type for the New Phone Call.
6. Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types > Select the Custom Record type > New Field.
- Type : Hyperlink
- Store Value : False
- Applies To tab: Phone Call
- Display: Subtab : Main
- Display Type :Inline
- Hyperlink Text : New Phone Call
- Validation & Defaulting Tab : Default Value - 'https://system.netsuite.com/app/crm/calendar/call.nl?whence='
- Validation & Defaulting Tab : Formula is true.
When a user views or edits a Custom Record type entry, he has the option to click on this field link to create a new Phone Call record. The user needs to select the Custom Record type entry number to associate to this Phone Call record. For every Phone Call record associated with the custom record, it shows as a sublist under the CRM Records tab.
Note: The CRM field can also be used for Task and Events.
