Problem :
Manufacturing : Transactions > Manufacturing > Enter Work Order - Quantity of the Assembly components changes as quantity of the members on assembly built are changed
Solution :
Here's the current behavior of the Manufacturing module work order and assembly build:
1. When a work order is created, the system notes the component quantity requirement for an assembly.
2. In recording the assembly build transaction, if the quantity required to build the assembly is greater or less than expected, the system now expects the component/assembly ratio for the remaining quantities to continue to be the same.
3. As a result, the quantity is adjusted based on the original component quantity amount.
An example is as follows:
1. 3 Units of B is required to build A
2. A work order is created for 4 unit of A.
3. Component required is 12.
4. An assembly build is created for 1 units of A with a component quantity of 5.
5. When this occurs, the system realized that there are still 3 unit of A remaining. Furthermore, based on the component/ assembly ratio (3:1), we still need 9 more units of B.
6. As a result, the total quantity is 9 units of B for the remaining quantity and 5 units for the existing. A total of 14 is now logged.
