Example: Parent Item is Fruits and Child Items are Mango, Orange and Apple
Expected Result: To see Mango, Orange and Apple on Fruits record.
This is possible via search by creating a sublist saved search.
1. Navigate to Transactions>Management>Saved Searches> New
2. Click on Items link
3. Search Title = Child Items (or any name you would like)
4. Check Available as Sublist View box
5. On Criteria tab>Standard subtab
- Look for Sub-Item Of and on the pop up window
---- Sub-item Of - set it to none of
---- then select -None-
6. Click on Set button>click on Add button
7. Click on Results tab>Column subtab
--- Add Name
--- Add Type
--- Add Price or any fields you need
8. Click on Available Filters tab>Look for Sub-Item Of
--- Check Show in Footer box
--- Click Add
9. Save and Run the Search
10.Navigate to Setup>Customization>Sublists
11.Click on Item tab
--- Search = Child Items (or look for the name of sublist search)
--- Label = Input the label (e.g. Child Items)
--- Tab - Select Inventory or any tab of your choice
--- Check Inventory Item box and other items applicable
12.Click Save
View one of the item that is parent and go to Inventory tab>Child Item subtab - will be able to see the list of all child items on that tab.

Why would none of none show only the sub-items of Fruits? Wouldn't this show any items that have anything in the 'Sub-Item of' field? The logic seems to be return items that don't have 'None', but presumably there would be other items that have something besides 'Fruits' in the 'Subitem of' field. Maybe you also have Barley, Wheat, Rice as Sub-Items of 'Grains', and others as Sub-items of 'Spices', etc.. Wouldn't that search criteria return those as well?
