There are instances when Bin on Hand will show a doubtful quantity and user may want to track transactions to validate this value. By instinct, user will run an Inventory Valuation filtered by Item then Location then Bin Number and the result will not tally with the Item Record.
The Inventory Valuation Report only reports on transactions that adds or removes inventory (therefore affecting the value). It will not include numbers on transactions such as a Bin Transfer (which has no financial impact). This is why the Inventory Valuation Report differs from the Item Record.
As an additional step, user can create a Transaction Saved Search to track Bin Transfers for this Item. User can do this by navigating to Transactions > Management > Saved Searches > New. Select Transaction and on the Criteria tab add Type is Bin Transfer.
When user adds the Quantity on the Inventory Valuation Report and on the Bin Transfer Saved Search, then the user will arrive at the Bin on Hand on the Item Record. If this still does not tally, then this is a possible defect and users should contact NetSuite Customer Support for assistance.
