By default when creating an invoice, the Billable Items/Expenses/Time subtabs are sorted by Date. But if the preferences under Setup > Accounting > Invoicing Preferences for the following are enabled then it will be grouped by Items/Expenses/Time instead:
- Combine Time Items on Invoices
- Combine Expense Items on Invoices
- Combine Billable Items on Invoices
To have the Billable Items/Expenses/Time sorted by Date again when you create an invoice, please disable these preferences.
If the preferences above are enabled the Billable Time and Items will be sorted by Items and the Billable Expenses will be sorted by (Expense) Category.
