Make Promotional URLs Work when "Return Invalid URLs as Search Results" is Enabled

When the setting, Return Invalid URLs as Search Results is enabled, all the Promotional URLs that users have currently setup will be returned as search results when someone accesses the URL.

 

To be able to make the Promotional URLs work when this setting is enabled, users would need to create a Redirect for the Promotional URLs.

 

Here are the steps to accomplish this:

 

1. Navigate to Setup > Site Builder > Redirects > New.

 

2. Under the Domain Name field, please select the Domain.

 

3. On the Redirect From URL field, please enter the Relative URL for the Promotional URL. For example, if the Promotional URL is http://www.webstore.com/testpromourl, users just need to enter /testpromourl in the Redirect From URL field.

 

4. On the Redirect To URL field, please enter the URL for the page where the Promotional URL needs to be linked to. So if the Promotional URL links to an Item on the Web Store, user just needs to enter the URL for the page of the Item on the Web Store in the Redirect To URL field.

 

5. Click Save.
