Error Message: "You have entered an Invalid Field Value XX for the following field: State" is Returned when Submitting an Online Customer Form

When user submits an onlinecustomer form the following error is returned: You have entered an InvalidField Value XX for the following field: State. The customer set the State fieldas a free-form text on their form and the user submitting information using theform is entering the abbreviation of the State (ex. CA) on the State field.

To resolve the problem, it isrecommended to change the State field on the Online Customer Form to aDrop-down/Selectable field instead of Free-form text type field; this way usercan just select the States instead of having to type them in manually which canavoid errors.

1. Navigate to Setup > Marketing> Online Customer Forms

2. Edit the OnlineCustomer Form

3. On the Select Fields sub-tab, highlight theState field and check the check box under the Select column

4. Save
