What field to add in an Item Fulfillment saved search to pull up the item description entered in the sales order which differs from the Sales Description field on the item record?


The Description column in the sales order form populates its value from Sales Description of the item record. There are times when users manually enter a custom description or edit an existing one upon sales order creation for variety of reasons (e.g. add a note, etc.).   

To pull up the exact item description displayed in the sales order transactions in an Item Fulfillment saved search, the user can perform the following steps: 

1. In the Criteria tab > Standard subtab, set the following filters:

  • Type = Item Fulfillment
  • Applied To Transaction : Type = Sales Order

2. In the Results tab > Columns subtab, add this field: Applied To Transaction : Memo.  This gives you the description displayed on the sales orders.

 

Note: The Description information in the sales orders is carried over onto the Item Fulfillment records.  Users currently do not have a way to manually enter an item description or edit an existing one in the Item Fulfillment records.
