Saving an Item Record generates an error: “The subsidiary restriction on this record is incompatible with those defined for location: XXX. Subsidiary access on this record must be a subset of those permitted by location.”

 

In a OneWorld account, setting a Location and/or Preferred Location is not allowed if item record is for multiple Subsidiaries selected in Subsidiary field.

1. Remove the value selected on the Location field (Item Record> Main > Classification Section) and/or Preferred Location field (Item Record> Inventory)

2.Click Save

Note: The reason for this is because when you assign a Preferred Location in the Item Record and you create a transaction, NetSuite will not be able to use that Preferred Location across all Subsidiaries. A location can only assigned to one Subsidiary. Therefore, if you select a Subsidiary for a transaction and it does not match the Subsidiary of the preferred location, the system will not allow you to save the transaction.
