Last Sales Activity not Showing the Latest Activity on the Customer Record

The Last Sales Activity Bundle in NetSuite adds a field on the Customer, Prospect, Lead, Contact, and Opportunity records that shows the date of the latest Activity logged for the record. There are instances when there is no Activity showing on the record or the Date and Activity is not the latest if you view the Activities list on the record. This could be due to any of the following:

1. The Activity was not selected or properly setup under Setup > Company > General Preferences under the Custom Preferences tab.
2, The Activity was logged by an Employee without a Sales Role.
3. The Activity was logged by an Employee with a Sales Role but that Employee is not the Sales Rep (or part of the Sales Team if Team Selling is enabled) assigned to the Customer, Prospect, Lead, Contact, and Opportunity record.

Example:
Customer - Company A (Sales Rep A is assigned to them)
Activities

  • August 13, 2008 Phone Call created by Sales Rep A
  • November 24, 2006 Task created by Sales Rep B
  • June 1, 2011 Event created by Sales Rep C

On the Customer record for Company A, the Last Sales Activity field contains August 13, 2008 Phone Call even if there is an Event logged on June 1, 2011 which is the latest on the logs because Sales Rep C is not their Sales Rep.
