CSV Import > Update the Sales Rep Roles in Customer Records

Normally there are three or four Sales Reps in a Sales Team. There are instances that Sales Roles change due to promotion or demotion.

The screenshot below is a sample customer record exposing the Sales Team. What we'll do is update the Sales Roles of Sales 1 from Junior Sales Manager to Senior Sales Manager and Sales 4 from Senior Sales Manager to Sales Rep. We are also setting Sales 1 as the Primary Sales Rep of the Team.

The steps below guide the user in updating the Sales Roles without overwriting the sublists.

1. Create a CSV file that contains the following columns: Internal ID of the record, Employee, Sales Role, Primary, and Contribution. Note: Sample format as per image below:

2. Set Up > Import/Export > Import CSV Record.

Import Type=Relationships; Record Type = Customers Only > Upload the file > Next .
4.
Data Handling = Update > Next.
5. Mapping as below:

Internal ID<>Internal ID
Sales Role<>Sales Team 1 : Sales Role
Primary<>Sales Team 1 : Primary
Employee<>Sales Team 1 : Employee
Contribution<>Sales Team 1 : Contribution

Once done, hit Next.

Enter Import Map Name > Save and Run.

Click Import Job Status link > Refresh.

Users check the record and found that the Sales Role of two of the Sales Reps from the team got updated accordingly. Please see the image below which reflects the changes.
