Create an Alternate Email Field that Appears on All Customer Records Regardless of Type

The Alt Email field is only available on Customer records of Type set to Individual. To see an Alt Email field on all customer records regardless of Type:


I. Create a custom Alt Email field:

1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Entity Fields > New.
2. Set the following:
- Label
= Alternate Email
- Type = Email Address
- Store Value = True
3. Under Applies to tab, mark the Customer checkbox.
4. Under Display tab, set Subtab to Main.
5. Click Save.

II. Hide the standard Alt Email field from the Customer Entry forms to avoid confusion:

1. Navigate to Customization > Forms > Entry Forms.
2. Edit the preferred Customer Entry form.
3. Under Fields tab > Info subtab, find the Alt Email field and unmark the Show checkbox.
4. Click Save.
5. Repeat Steps II.1 to II.4 for all other Customer Entry forms.

Note: The Capture Email Replies feature works only with the standard Alt. Email field that is available for Individual type Customer records. The feature does not work for the custom field described in this solution.
