Unable to Save Transaction for Child Customer Due to Days Overdue Warning

In Parent-Child Relationships, the credit hold setting of the parent customer prevails over the child.

To illustrate:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences, set the following:
    • Customer Credit Limit Handling = Enforce Holds
    • Accept Payments through Top-level Customer = Yes
    • Days Overdue for Warning Hold = 10 days
  2. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers, under Financial tab, set the following for the parent customer and the child customer:
    • Parent Customer: Hold = Auto
    • Child Customer: Hold = Off >
  3. Enter a Sales Order for Child Customer. Make sure that the amount is more than the credit limit and the customer is beyond days overdue. At this point, users are unable to save the transaction which displays "Customer is xxx Days Overdue".

Since Accept Payments through Top-level Customer is enabled, the child customer follows its parent's setting.

To be able to successfully save transactions for the child customer, perform the following:

  1. Navigate to Lists > Relationships > Customers.
  2. Click Edit next to the Parent Customer.
  3. Click Financial Tab.
  4. Select Off on Hold field.
  5. Click Save.
