Transfer all items' Quantities on Hand from One Location to Another

Scenario:

Move allInventories into one single location

Request toprovide instructions on how to transfer all the quantities on hand from variouslocations to the single location the most convenient way possible

Solution:

Option 1: Use the Adjust Inventory Worksheet.

1.   Navigate to Transactions> Inventory > Adjust Inventory Worksheet.

2.   Open thesame navigational path in another tab to add one more worksheet

The firstworksheet is for the FROM Locationand

The secondworksheet is for the TO Location

3.   Enter New Qty = 0 for all items in the worksheetin the FROM Location worksheet

4.   Enter Qty. On Hand information from the FROM Location worksheet under the New Qty column of the TO Location worksheet

5.   Ensure thatthe total value for the Adjusted Quantityon TO Location is evaluated and/or equivalent to the total value recognized on the FROM Locationadjustment

This is torecognized/correct the amount of the item on the TO Location

Notes:

User can click the Customize button on the worksheet if user want to set filters (e.g.Preferred Vendor)

        Important:

Performing the transfer will result to the cost ofthe items being averaged.

If user is using FIFO or LIFO, user hasto take note of this.

Navigate to Setup> Accounting > Accounting Preferences > Items/Transactions tab > Inventory portlet > InventoryCosting Method field to know the Costing Method used in the account

Save the worksheet per tab so as not to lose thework

Other 2: Use Transactions > Inventory > Adjust Inventory

Limitations:

The items are not auto-populated and have to bemanually entered.

This is not feasible if user has hundreds or thousandsof items to transfer

Tagged as Enhancement 171528 (Transactions> Inventory> InventoryTransfer: Ability to do Bulk Transfer by listing only all the items belong toSource Location without the need of entering these items individually on each lineitem).

There could be items with negative quantity on hand

Adjust Inventory can only transfer positive values

Option 3: If user is using Adjust Inventory even for negativequantities, user can use ReplenishLocation so that user could replenish the negative quantity items first then proceed with Adjust Inventory.

Limitation:

The items would not populate if on item records, userdid not set Reorder Points and Preferred Stock Levels
