Symptom
The Saved Search is shared to a custom role and is set to Allow Audience to Edit. When user with custom role edits the shared search, user only have option to Save As. When user selects Save As, the Search Title was not changed. The saved search no longer appears in the Saved Search List.
Recommendation
To resolve this, perform the following steps:
1. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.
2. Edit the custom role.
3. In the Permissions tab > Lists subtab, add Publish Search permission.
4. Set Level to Create.
5. Click Save.
Note: When user with custom role, edits the saved search, the Audience, Roles, and Email subtabs shows up. This will retain the criteria under these subtabs when user clicks on Save As. Without these tabs, the system removes the criteria set on the subtabs making the search private.
