Solution/Workaround/Gotcha/Recommendation Details:

1. The last month to date/ last year to date/ last week to date is usually used for comparison. Example is for sales reports.

o If you use Last Month to Date, it means you are comparing the sales at the start of the date last month up to the date similar to today's date. Therefore, if the date today is March 27, 2009, if you use last month to date, it will show February 1, 2009 to February 27, 2009

o If you use Last Week to Date, its like saying "last week thru the same day of the week as today. Since today is Friday, it will show the sales start of last week to Friday last week. That will be March 15, 2009 to March 20, 2009.

o If you use Last Year to Date, it will be January 1, 2008 to March 27, 2008.
