Existing Sales Rules are Not Respected when Lead, Prospect orCustomer Record is Created in NetSuite


The user creating the Lead, Prospect or Customer record is defined as a Sales Rep hence NetSuite overrides any existing Sales Rules and automatically assigns the user as the Sales Rep.

A user is defined as a Sales Rep when:

1.       The Sales Rep field on the Human Resources tab of the employee record is checked.

2.       The Sales Role field on the Human Resources tab of the employee record is populated with a Sales Role where the Sales Rep field has been checked.
Note: Only applies when Team Selling feature is enabled.

NetSuite assumes that the Sales Rep entering Lead, Prospect or Customer record intends to take ownership of the record. 

Lead, Prospect or Customer record entered by a user not defined as a Sales Rep or records created through an Online Form adheres to any existing Sales Rules.
