CSV Response: "You have entered an Invalid Field Value <amount> for the following field: Credit" on Journal Entry Import

 

To resolve this error, make sure that:

• the Debit and Credit Amount cells in the CSV file are formatted as Number instead of Currency, and
  

• the amounts do not use any thousand separator

1. Open the CSV file.

2. Highlight the cells for the Debit and Credit amounts.

3. Right-click then select Format Cells.

4. In the Format Cells window, click the Number tab.

5. Select Number for Category.

6. Uncheck Use 1000 Separator (,).

7. Click OK.

8. Save the CSV file.

9. Re-run the import.
