CSV Response: "Invalid Parent Reference Key" is Returned on Matrix Item Import

The cause of this error is the Show Display name with Item Codes is enabled in the General Preferences.

There are two ways to resolve this error:

• Disable Show Display name with Item Codes is enabled in the General Preferences
• Update the CSV file used for the import to include the Item Name/Number Display Name/Code

     
Option One: Disable Show Display name with Item Codes (requires an Administrator).

     1. Navigate to Setup > Company > General Preferences.
     
     2. Uncheck Show Display Name with Item Codes.
     
     3. Click Save.
     

Option Two: Update the CSV file used for the import to include the Item Name/Number Display Name/Code.

Note: External ID and Matrix Option fields are still requried.
