Bank Balance on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) does not match the Bank Balance shown on the Bank Register.

Bank Balance on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) does not match the Bank Balance shown on the Bank Register.


Answer

The Bank Balance showing on the KPI does not equal to the Bank Balance that is showing on the Bank Register.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Home Dashboard > Key Performance Indicators portlet

2. Click on Set Up link – the Set Up Key Performance Indicators screen will appear

3. Click on Add Standard KPIs – choose Bank Balance

4. Notice that the default period comparison will default to Today vs. One Month Ago

5. Save

6. Go to Reports > Banking / Budgeting > Bank Register

7. On the Bank Register page, set the Date = Last Month to Date

8. Notice that the amount per Bank Register does not match the Bank Balance on the KPI Previous column


Have the customer change the Report by Period preference under Home > Set Preferences > Reporting / Search tab.

Set the Report by Period to Never (from All Reports or Financials Only).

The difference in the balances was the fact that there are transactions posted to a period that did not match the date they were posted to.
