Expose Subdepartment of in a Department Saved Search

The ability to expose the Subdepartment Of field using a Department Saved Search is currently not possible and is filed as Enhancement# 269635. Note that the Subdepartment Of is a standard field in a Department form with Internal ID = {parent}. However, using Formula (Text) = {parent} will still not expose the Subdepartment Of on a given Saved Search.

As an alternate solution, users can create the following Saved Search:

1.    Navigate to Transactions>Management>Saved Searches>New

2.    Select Department

3.    On the Results tab add the following fields:

·         Name where Summary Type = Group

·         Formula (Text) = DECODE({systemnotes.field}, 'Child Of', {systemnotes.newvalue}) where Summary Type = Maximum and When Ordered By Field = System Notes: Date

4.    Hit Preview or Save and Run
