Adaptive Insights: Import Data > Error: An error occurred on the previous request: Import file is invalid or not specified.

This article is intended for accounts integrated with Adaptive Insights, NetSuite's partner in delivering financial management solutions.


Scenario:
In Adaptive Insights Actuals, Plan or Transactions are imported from a spread sheet after clicking the Import button the following error is received: An error occurred on the previous request: Import file is invalid or not specified.

Solution:
To import data into Adaptive Insights, an import template must be used. An import template can be downloaded from the Import Data tab. Download the actual import template by clicking on Download Template. This download is an Excel (.xls or .xlsx ) file that contains general importing instructions. It is not possible to use the Excel output generated from the Export tab as the basis for the import file. The data must be transferred to an import template.
