Ability to Fulfill Separately Drop Ship Item and Regular Item From a Single Sales Order

In the Fulfill Orders page, when it is filtered by location all Sales Orderwhere the "Location" field is set to that specific location in themain line will appear, thus when you tick an SO and hit submit all of the itemsin that SO will be fulfilled including the drop ship item that is technicallynot physically present in that location. Thus, when you go to the related PO,the "mark shipped" button will no longer be available.

In cases where the business fulfills the regular item and waits for thevendor's confirmation if the drop ship item has already been sent to the customerit is just right that there will be separate fulfillment. Upon Item Fulfillmentthe Drop Ship item can be left unfulfilled by unchecking the fulfill button butthis will not be a feasible solution if the company has hundreds of SO tofulfill and the only feasible way is through the Fulfill Order Page.
 
As an alternate solution, one can customize the Sales Order and have thelocation set per line item just like in Bills and Purchase Orders. To do so,the steps are enumerated below:

1. Create a dummy location
               • Navigate to Setup> Company> Locations> New
               • Assign a name for the location (e.g. Drop Ship Dummy Location)
               •Hit Save

2. Customize the Sales Order
               • Navigate to Transactions> Sales> Enter Sales Order
               • Click Customize> Customize Form
               • Under the Screen Fields tab, proceed to Columns subtab and hiton New Field button and "New Transaction Body Field" page willappear
               • Label it as "Location"
               • Under Applies To tab, check the Sales box
               • Under Display tab, Subtab drop down select "Items"
               • Hit Save
               • Go back to Transactions> Sales> Enter Sales Order
               • Click Customize> Customize Form
               • Under Screen Fields tab> Main subtab
               • Look for Location, uncheck the Show box
               • Rename it and hit Save

Upon creation of the sales order, for the drop ship item select the dummylocation created. Thus, in the Order Fulfillment Page the items can now befulfilled separately since they have separate locations.
