By enabling the "Use Quotes in Forecast" function:
- The "Include In Forecast" checkbox will appear on the Quote transaction form, if the account uses the Standard Forecast feature.
- The "Forecast Type" dropdown menu will appear on the Quote transaction form, it the account uses the Advanced Forecast feature.
1. When the Standard Forecast is enabled
a. Go to the Transaction > Sales > Create Opportunity > create an Opportunity with the status e.g. "In Discussion" (20% Probability) > Click the Save button.
b. On the Opportunity, you've just created, go to the Sales subtab > Quotes sublist > click the New Quote button.
c. Create a new Quote with the status e.g. "Proposal" (50% Probability).
d. On the New Quote page check the "Include in Forecast" checkbox.
e. Click the Save button.
f. Go back to the associated Opportunity and see that the Opportunity status has been changed to the "Proposal" status (50% Probability).
Note: If the "Include in Forecast" checkbox is not checked, the associated Opportunity won't be affected by the Quote status, because the Quote won't be counted in the Forecast Record.
2. When the Advanced Forecast is enabled
a. Go to the Transaction > Sales > Create Opportunity > create an Opportunity with the status e.g. "In Discussion" (20% Probability) > Click the Save button.
b. On the Opportunity you've just created go to the Sales subtab > Quotes sublist > click the New Quote button.
c. Create a new Quote with the status e.g. "Proposal" (50% Probability).
d. On the New Quote page select the "Forecast Type" from the dropdown menu (Worst Case, Most Likely, Upside).
e. Click the Save button.
f. Go back to the associated Opportunity and see that the Opportunity status has been changed to the "Proposal" status (50% Probability).
Note: If the "Forecast Type" of the associated Quote is "Omitted", the status of the Opportunity won't be affected because the Quote won't be counted in the Forecast Record.
