Restrict a Shipping Method for a Specific Item in the Web Store based on Item Weight

Scenario:

Customer has a specific item which weighs less than 5 lb. When web store shoppers select this item, they should only see a shipping option specifically setup for this item.

Solution:

1. Navigate to Setup > Site Builder > Set up Web Site > under Shopping tab > note the Default Web Site Shipping Method

2. Edit the default shipping item by navigating t to Lists > Accounting > Shipping Items.

- Under Shipping and Handling Rules tab, set the shipping item not to display if the weight is under certain amount, in this case under 5 lb.

    Example: Available if Weight is Over 5 lb

Now when shoppers select this item, any shipping method which satisfies the condition set in Shipping and Handling Rules will not show as an option.
