Reason Why Some Preferences Are Grayed Out in Home > Set Preferences

In Home > Set Preferences > General tab > some preferences are greyed out like Number of Rows in List Segments and Maximum Entries in Dropdowns. This is because of the General Preferences set by the Administrator if said preferences are set to Allow Override.

To resolve, login as Administrator or a role with Setup permissions and follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to Setup > Company > General Preferences.
2. Click on the Overriding Preferences tab.
3. Check Allow Override for the preference, in this example Number of Rows in List Segments and Maximum Entries in Dropdowns.
4. Click Save.
