How to Pay Piece Work Basis Employees in Payroll

Some employers pay their employees based on the quantity of piece worked for a given period rather than based on the number of hours worked. To set this up in NetSuite, user may use an Earning:Addition payroll item where the Based on quantity checkbox is checked.

 

Note: Based on quantity is used to calculate based on a quantity such as hours, miles, piece work, units produced, etc.

 

Alternatively, users may also use an Earning:Wage payroll item if the employee is paid solely based on piece worked.
