A customrole with access to Entity or Transaction record is unable to see the Communicationtab of the record. In order to view this tab, the user's role must have the TrackMessages permission.
1. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles >Manage Roles.
2. Edit the role.
3. Under Permissions tab > Lists subtab, add TrackMessages.
4. Set Level to at least View. See Access Levels for Permissionsfor more information.
5. Click Save.
