When a user does not see the Customize View button in a List of records or transactions, Perform Search permission must be added to the role of the user. Having this button enables the user to edit the way the list of records or transactions are being displayed. For the step-by-step process on how to customize a list view, please refer to Customizing List Views.
To add the permission, please follow the steps below.
1. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.
2. Click Edit on the role that needs the permission.
3. Navigate to Permissions tab > Lists subtab.
4. Add Perform Search and provide Full access.
5. Click Save.
