Using Summary Type Maximum / Minimum on Saved Searches to get the Oldest or Most Recent Value of a Custom Field

In this example, the custom field is placed on customer records.

A. Custom field setup: Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Entity Fields
   a. Store Value = T
   b. Applies To > Customer = T
   c. Type = Free-Form Text

To get the very first value placed on the search or the most recent one, create customer search and use the system notes logs:

1. Lists > Search > Saved Searches > New > Customer

2. Criteria: include the following field(s)
   2.1. System Notes Fields ... >Field > is = "custom field created in Step A"

3. Results: include the following field(s)
   3.1. System Notes Fields ... > New Value > Summary Type = Minimum > When Ordered By Field = System Notes Fields ... > Date
       i. This field will display to first or oldest value
   3.2. System Notes Fields ... > New Value > Summary Type = Maximum > When Ordered By Field = System Notes Fields ... > Date
       i. This field will display the most recent value
