Unable to Submit CSR to Verisign

Verisign Secure Domain CSR Error

Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for Verisign is different with GoDaddy.
Verisign requires users to not enter the following information in creating the CSR.

1. Email Address
2. Challenge password
3. Optional company name
 

The below error message will show in Verisign website if the information is present in the CSR.

"The submitted CSR is not properly formatted CSR. Generate and submit a valid CSR."
 

Resolution:

1. Repeat the steps in creating CSR and "do not provide a email address, challenge password or an optional company name if prompted (for OpenSSL)
2. Navigate to Verisign website and paste the CSR code.
