The Sales Rep set on a specific Customer Record is no longer populated on Transactions for the Customer

Problem:

1.    Enter new Transaction for Customer X

2.    Sales Rep field shows User entering the Transaction or empty instead of the Sales Rep set on Customer X record

 

Investigation:

1.    View older Transactions and notice the field is populated correctly

2.    View Customer record to confirm there is a value in the Sales Rep field

3.    View the Employee record for this Sales Rep:

a.     Confirm Is Sales Rep = Yes

b.    Notice that Inactive = Yes

c.     View System Notes confirming this change occurred recently

 

Solution:

1.    If it is correct that this Sales Rep is now inactive then set an active Sales Rep in the Sales Rep field of the Customer in question

2.    If the Sales Rep was set to inactive incorrectly then edit Employee record and set Inactive = No 

 

In conclusion:


If a Sales Rep set on a Customer record is Inactive then when on a Transaction it will populate the Sales Rep  field with the User entering the Transaction (if Is Sales Rep = Yes on Employee record) or empty (if Is Sales Rep = No on Employee record).
