Unable to save changes in an item record due to a pop-up message "missing closing quote on tag".

Problem/Business Requirement/Unique Question:

Lists > Accounting > Items > Edit > Unable to edit an item record due to a pop-up message "missing closing quote on tag".

 

Symptoms/Details of Business Requirements/Any Additional Information:

You will be able to edit the item but when you click anything, the pop-up message will show "missing closing quote on tag". If you will click on OK in the message, the page will not respond to any action you make, which means that the changes in the item record will not be saved. 

  

Solution/Workaround/Gotcha/Recommendation Details:

 

The cause of this problem usually is the item's Webstore tab, where the Description boxes (Webstore, Detailed, Featured, etc.) are using HTML format but it shows text that are in copied Formatted Text. To resolve this so either of the following:

 

1. Go to Home > Set Preferences > Appearance > Enable Rich Text Editing = False > Save. Or,

 

2. Edit the description boxes in the item record's Webstore tab and make sure that the HTML description has valid codes.
