Transactions > Inventory > Order Items > Location Filter does not work

Symptoms/Details of Business Requirements/Any Additional Information:

The Location filter in the Order Items page would filter the list of items that will be ordered for the location you will select and will also be the location of the purchase order that will be created.

 

Solution/Workaround/Gotcha/Recommendation Details:

 

For the Location filter to work, you need to go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > Items/Transactions > Inventory > Centralize Purchasing in a Single Location = False.

 

The Order Items page is going to create a purchase order when you click on Submit. When the above preference is enabled, you will only have one location for all the purchase orders that will be created in the said page so it is useless to use the Location filter. 

 

The location selected in the Location Filter is the location of the purchase order that will be created in the Order Items page.
