Default Currency when Vendor/Customer records are created through Partner>Info tab>Other Relationships>New

Records as Multiple Types using Multi-Currency feature:

You can create an entity record as another type of record. Entities can have multiple relationships within the company. You can create a Partner who is also a Customer, a Vendor, or as other name record.

***The default Currency when Vendor/Customer records are created through Edit: Partner>Relationship tab>Other Relationships>New (represented by a plus icon) would be the Base Currency of the Company (Base Currency of the Root Parent Subsidiary in case of OneWorld accounts).

Illustration:

1. Navigate to Lists>Relationships>Partners>New. Enter a Company Name. Click Save.

2. Once created, go back to the Partner record and click Edit>Relationship tab>Other Relationships>New (represented by a plus icon).

3. Highlight Customer or Vendor. Click Save.

4. Navigate back to the Partner record either through Global Search or open recent records option. Click on Relationships tab and click the link for Customer or Vendor then go the Financial tab, take note of the currency assignment.

Result: Notice that the Currency assigned is the base currency of the company (Base Currency of the Root Parent Subsidiary in case of OneWorld accounts).

***If users base currency (Base Currency of the Root Parent Subsidiary in case of OneWorld accounts) is US Dollars, the default currency will be US Dollars. If it is Canadian Dollars, the entity record will also follow this initially.

***
Once the Currency of the vendor record is changed, the customer record and partner will also change the same way. They will be assigned the same currency.

***If the Other Relationship is created from Vendor/Customer, the default Currency set will be the Primary Currency set on the Vendor/Customer.

Example:

Base Currency of Company = USD

Primary Currency of Customer = GBP

Edit the Customer record > Relationships>Other Relationships>Vendor, the Vendor will have the Primary Currency of GBP.
