In Item Record > Purchasing/Inventory tab > Bin Numbers, users can easily add and remove bins. There may be instances that location on hand does not match with bin on hand because some bins are not showing in the Bin Numbers sub tab. This is true when Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory Management is enabled since this feature allows users to use bins on transactions even if these bins are not yet added in the item record.
Another problem here is that when a user pulls up an item saved search using Bin Number fields, NetSuite only shows the bins that were manually assigned in the Item Record > Purchasing/Inventory tab > Bin Numbers subtab.
To find missing bins, users may follow the steps below:
A. Create a Transaction Saved Search
1. Navigate to Reports> Saved Searches> All Saved Searches> New> Transactions.
2. Add the following filters in Criteria > Standard subtab:
- Item = choose the item in question
- Transaction Bin Number = is not empty
- Location = location in question
3. Add the following fields in Results> Columns and the corresponding Summary Type:
- Item | Group
- Transaction Bin Number |Group
4. Add the following fields in Available Filters and put a checkmark
Show in Filter Region:
- Item
- Location
B. Edit the item
Add the bin number(s) displayed in the results of the saved search.
