The Location Field in Item Fulfillment Page is Greyed Out

 When Multi-Location (MLI) feature is already enabled but Location field in Item Fulfillment page is still greyed out, perform the following:

1. Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences.

2. Under Order Management and Fulfillment section, set Fulfill Based on Commitment to any other than Limit to Committed (e.g. Allow Uncommitted).

3. Click Save.

If Fulfill Based on Commitment is set to: Limit to Committed, the latter preference restricts fulfillment to a quantity not greater than the quantity committed. The basis of item quantity commitment comes from the Location selected on the Sales Order (SO) form. When a location is designated in a Sales Order, notice that in the Sales Orders Pending Fulfillment report; the Committed column only shows the quantity committed to the specific location.  This is the reason why in the Item Fulfillment, the Location field is greyed out. 


If Fulfill Based on Commitment is set to Allow Uncommitted, the latter preference allows the user to fulfill a quantity greater than the quantity committed on an order. The Location field is editable on the Item Fulfillment screen because the system allows the user to grab item quantity in any location without prior reservation of the item.
