Opportunity is Greyed Out in the Sales Rep Forecast Editor

This happens when: 

  • The Opportunity is linked to an Estimate, Sales Order or Invoice.
  • There's no Primary Sales Rep checked in the Sales Team tab of the Opportunity.

1. The Opportunity is linked to an Estimate, Sales Order or Invoice.
     
     An Opportunity that has a linking Estimate is greyed out in the Forecast Editor. However, user will see the linking Estimate under the Estimate tab. To resolve this, perform the steps below:

          a. Edit the linking Estimate.
          
          b. Set the Status field to Omitted.
          
          c. Click Save.
          
          d. Navigate back to the Opportunity and see that it can now be edited.

 

2. There's no primary Sales Rep checked in the Sales Team tab of the Opportunity. To resolve this, perform the steps below:
     
          a. Navigate to Transactions > Sales > Create Opportunities > List.
          
          b. Edit the Opportunity.
          
          c. Click the Sales Team tab.
          
          d. Select an Employee, assign a Role then check Primary checkbox.
