Custom Role Does Not have the View Dropdown on the Dashboard List Portlet

 

An Admin can set a saved search to be the default view in a Dashboard List portlet for a selected record type. If the saved search is the only dashboard view available for a custom role, then the search was probably restricted to the role.

To check the custom role, perform the following steps:

     1. Log in as Administrator.
     
     2. Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.
     
     3. Edit the Custom role.
     
     4. Click the Searches tab.
     
     5. In the Standard subtab, locate the record type used for the Dashboard (e.g. Opportunity).
     
     6. In the Dashboard View field, uncheck Restricted.
     
     7. Click Save.
